What is KOURT?

"KOURT was founded in 2021 and is focused on providing kids with access to affordable tennis and pickleball instruction and play. As we like to say, we put the "K" in court for kids!

We tailor our programs to different skill levels, ensuring that every child can find the right fit and thrive. We believe in building the future of tennis and pickleball by starting with the youngest players, fostering their love for the game, and helping them develop essential skills. We have great coaches who are passionate about these sports and committed to passing this on to the next generation.

By operating within public school sites in local neighbourhoods, we bring these sports to a whole new group of kids outside of the traditional tennis club ecosystem. Many of our parents have said that they would not have even considered tennis for their child prior to KOURT, as it was not accessible — or even visible — as an option.  Unlike other programs, we also welcome parents onto the court to become actively involved in practices, particularly with younger children. We feel that their involvement supports a child's engagement and progress, as they can reinforce the lessons learned at KOURT and serve as active role models.

And unlike the traditional club model of cycling through different kids every week, we focus on building a community of kids who continually progress and develop lasting relationships with one another. As a community, we not only play tennis and pickleball, but celebrate holidays and special events. It's all about creating positive memories for our kids that they will then associate with their involvement in sport. So if you are just coming out for some great lessons, that is fine — but don't be surprised if you stay."
